Thanks to the help of Kimball Hughes Public Relations, The MOG Project got a spot on NBC4 Washington, a local news station serving the Washington DC metro area. Our recent auction of a Buffalo Trace Distillery gift of a barrel and VIP experience of their popular Blanton’s bourbon whiskey piqued their interest. So they decided to pay us a visit over zoom to speak with our Executive Director and Co-Founder, Julia Lefelar. We are so thankful for their interest in us and for taking the time to report on our auction, bringing awareness to this rare disorder! Watch both airings below:
The auction was done by Unicorn Auctions, an online auction platform for rare spirits. The auction was supposed to top at $35,000, but when generous bidders stepped in to pull their resources together, the end result was a final bid of $51,600! The winners who want to remain anonymous, told The MOG Project that they were very happy to pair their love of bourbon with such a great cause. We, of course, were so grateful for their generosity, giving our mission the lift-off it needs to really affect research in MOG-AD.
