Who we are

Thank you for visiting The MOG Project website.  The mission of The MOG Project is to educate and provide support to MOG-AD patients, caregivers and doctors, and to help further research in MOG-AD in hopes of finding a cure.  This website (https://mogproject.org) is funded out of the operating budget of The MOG Project.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Cookies

When filling out forms for contacting us, registering for our email list, donating, or purchasing from our MOG Gear store, your name, email address and website are saved in cookies.  These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again for repeated actions.  These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded Content from other websites

Content on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.).  Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.  These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website if it is offered.

Personal Data from MOG Gear Purchases

When purchasing from our MOG Gear store, name, address, phone number and items purchased are saved by WooCommerce and follow the privacy policy of WooCommerce, found here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/marketplace-privacy/.  We do not save any credit card information.

User registration data

For users that register on our website (if any), we store their personal information they provide in a secure database provided by MailChimp.  The MailChimp Privacy Policy can be found at https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/.  This information allows us to provide important updates regarding our community offerings to those who have requested it.  We will never share your information.  Website administrators can see and edit that information.

How long we retain your data

We hold your data through MailChimp until you ask to delete it. Users can request that their personal information be deleted at any time by unsubscribing to emails from The MOG Project.

Data saved saved from purchases in our MOG Gear store is saved in WooCommerce for a period of one year.

What rights you have over your data

If you have registered with The MOG Project on this site, or purchased anything from our MOG Gear store, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.  You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.  This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
