Petit Mal (Absence) Seizure

A brief, sudden lapse of consciousness. More common in children than adults. An absence seizure may present as one staring blankly into space for a few seconds followed by a quick return to a normal level of alertness. Absence seizures do not have a postictal period and are characterized by immediate resumption of prior activity. May be a symptom of MOGAD from disease process in the brain.
