Uhthoff’s Syndrome / Phenomenon (Heat Sensitivity)

A temporary worsening of neurological symptoms related to a demyelinating disorder such as MS, MOGAD or NMOSD when the body has prolonged exposure to excessive heat causing a rise in the body’s core temperature (e.g., from hot weather, exercise, fever, saunas, or hot tubs).

  1. My 14 year old daughter was diagnosed with Mogad a year ago. Finding reliable sources seems to be challenging when it comes to this disease. I am grateful for the few that there are. It’s so hard to watch my daughter explain her symptoms and how she feels with very little understanding from even her neurologists.
